If you are wondering what CHOP stands for it is nothing else but "Children Hospital of Philadelphia"
So,
Selena Gomez has helped Ryan Seacrest open a new multimedia centre at a children's hospital in Philadelphia.
Selena Gomez visited the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia on Friday to help Seacrest launch 'The Voice', an interactive, closed-circuit broadcast unit for the facility's young patients. (GO SELENA)
The centre, which is funded by the American Idol host's Ryan Seacrest Foundation, will give children the opportunity to engage in a variety of media, act as DJs and play their favourite songs.
The newly-opened space will also allow stars to give live performances at the hospital and be interviewed by its patients, E! Online reports.
"I'm excited to bring The Voice to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia," Seacrest said. "The Voice closed-circuit broadcast centre is a new addition to [the hospital's] existing Child Life programmes and provides creative, interactive entertainment."
After a successful opening ceremony, Seacrest took to Twitter and publicly thanked Selena for supporting the good cause.
He wrote: "The smiles that @SelenaGomez brought to kids' faces at @RyanFoundation... unforgettable...cannot thank u enough for taking the time, have a safe flight. Today was amazing (sic)."
Ryan previously said of his decision to open the foundation:
"I realise that there are more important things in life than going to work every day and taking on as many jobs as you can."Seriously haters if you hate Selena than you hate Humanity!! (twitter post by a Selenator)
Selena Gomez has now officially become the ambassador this charity foundation on 22nd April 2012.
She says "The Ryan Seacrest Foundation does such incredible work and I'm thrilled to be a part of it. I'm particularly excited about helping to launch a media centre in my hometown of Dallas at the Children's Medical Center and giving back to the kids there."
Whereas Ryan Seacrest says "From the beginning, I could tell that Selena really understood our mission. I'm so grateful that she's decided to take on this larger role with us, joining our efforts to bring hope and spirit to seriously ill and injured kids. With her as ambassador, we will continue to expand our programmes at children's hospitals throughout the country (America)."
Proud to be a Selenator
