Selena Gomez‘s star is climbing higher than her very own boyfriend, Justin Bieber!
Thanks to her new album, movie and appearances around the globe, Selena ousted the Biebs from the number one spot on Billboard’s Social 50 list this week, putting him in second place. (Justin fans Cant believe it!)
According to Billboard, “The Social 50 ranks the most active artists on the world’s leading social networking sites — YouTube, Vevo, Facebook, Twitter, MySpace and iLike — using a formula blending weekly additions of friends/fans/followers along with weekly artist page views and weekly song plays.”
Selena Gomez jumped from five to one for a lot of reasons. First, her third album, When the Sun Goes Down, with her band The Scene, dropped June 28 to fantastic reviews. Plus, her music video for “Love You Like A Love Song” has gotten nearly 12 million hits on YouTube in only two weeks!
Outside of the music front, Selena has also had mass success with her acting career, thanks to her romantic comedy, Monte Carlo, which hit theaters July 1. Not only that, Selena endearing moment with her crush, Shia LaBeouf, went viral on YouTube last week as well.
All in all, July is shaping up to be a really fantastic month for Selena — she has a birthday coming up, she’s madly in love for the first time and her career has skyrocketed. :) (Cant feel any prouder as a Selenator/Gomez Homies)
